14 Day Private Home stay Safari – (Lewa Downs, Aberdares, Solio, Ol Malo, Crater Lake, Longonot Ranch, Rekero) Day 1. Wilderness Trails: The safari begins with the beautiful drive to Lewa Downs, one of Kenya’s oldest private ranches and an influential model in global conservation circles. Run by the Craig family, Wilderness Trails offers a relaxed home stay in a spectacular wilderness, which can be experienced on foot, from the ranch 4 wheel drive vehicle, or on horse back. Day 2 & 3. Wilderness Trails: 2 full days to explore the wonders of Lewa Downs, where elephants roam alongside graceful reticulated giraffe, giant eland, all the big cats, and one of the world’s last great population of black rhino. Day 4. Aberdares/Solio: If the black rhino has not been seen at Lewa Downs, a short drive west, to Solio Reserve, where the Parfet family have achieved the world’s highest reproduction rate of this magnificent beast. The camp site is on a spectacular riverside location, between snow-capped Mount Kenya and the green slopes of the Aberdares. Day 5 & 6.Aberdares/Solio: 2 full days to enjoy the wonders of Solio, which hosts large numbers of plains game as well as its famous population of black and white rhino. From here, it’s a short drive to the Aberdare Salient, where Kenya’s last great indigenous forest harbors great herds of elephant, buffalo, lion, rare bongo antelope, and spectacular birdlife. Day 7.Ol Malo: From the Aberdares, heading east across the Laikipia Plateau to the spectacular wilderness of Ol Malo, a 5,000 acre game sanctuary perched above the Uaso Nyiro River. Overnight in one of four charming cottages overlooking a large waterhole where elephant and resident leopard regularly come to drink. Day 8. Ol Malo: A day at Ol Malo gives us chances to drive or walk in the surrounding bush or to visit the Francombe family’s traditional Samburu neighbors. Our Hosts also have a stable of horses and camels, which offer a unique perspective of this wild land and good chances of seeing shyer antelope species such as klipspringer and the majestic Greater Kudu. Day 9. Crater Lake/Longonot Ranch: Depart for the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, famed as the heartland of Kenya’s original settler community. the day will be spent hippo watching on the lake or walking and riding on the plains around Mt Longonot. Overnight at a camp on Crater Lake or a classic old manor house on Longonot Ranch. Day 10.Rekero: Continue south to the world-famous Masai Mara reserve. On the sweeping river-fed plains, the whole of wild Africa congregates, from elephant and buffalo to prowling cats and huge herds of plains game. Home for the next four days will be Rekero, the charming house of Pauline and Ron Beaton, whose four thatched bungalows overlook a much frequented waterhole on the edge of the reserve. Day 11, 12 & 13. Rekero: The last days offer a veritable wildlife feast, when game driving or enjoying escorted walks across the plains. Day 14. Departure: Sadly, you bid <kwaheri> to this special piece of Africa as you board the flight to Nairobi. Day rooms reserved at a Nairobi Hotel for freshening up before transferring to the airport for your flight out of Kenya. 9 Days/ 8 Nights – Chyulu Hills, Lewa Downs, Maasai Mara This 9-day safari takes you on a spectacular game viewing experience from Nairobi’s impressive Chyulu Hills and the untamed Lewa Downs of Laikipia to the remarkable Massai Mara the world’s greatest game reserve and romantic wilderness.
9 Days/ 8 Nights – Vintage Safari – (Amboseli, Meru, Mara) Day 1.Tortilis Camp/Amboseli: Transfer from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi Hotel to Wilson Airport 0730 on a scheduled flight to Amboseli, arriving 0815. On arrival you will be met by a Tortilis Camp driver-guide and taken to Tortilis Camp with game viewing en-route. After lunch relax in the early afternoon, poolside or on your own verandah before going on an early evening game drive. Day 2. Tortilis Camp/Amboseli: Full day of game viewing, early morning and late afternoon guided game walks or drives become a compulsive habit here, with so much to see in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. Watching the elephant herds, the plains game and the incredibly diverse bird life makes Amboseli a fantastic game viewing experience. Alternatively visit a local Manyatta (Maasai village) to meet the local community, view their traditional way of life and craftsmanship, or simply laze by the pool or on the airy verandah in front of your tent. Day 3. Elsa’s Kopje/Meru: Leave Tortilis Camp to meet Air Kenya schedule flight at Amboseli airstrip Days 4 & 5. Elsa’s Kopje/Meru: Full day of game viewing on foot or in one of the custom open sided safari Land Rovers. Try an early morning guided walk in the bush to work up your appetite for a delicious bush breakfast, freshly prepared in front of your eyes, out in the Park. Or take an extended game drive to the banks of the Tana River to view the hippos and crocodiles ending with late afternoon sun downers on the river banks before a night game drive home. Day 6. A Private Mara Camp/Maasai Mara: Leave Elsa’s Kopje: 0845: depart on Air Kenya schedule from Meru, arrive Mara 1045 approx. You will be met at the airstrip by driver guide for a leisurely game drive to the camp. After lunch relax in the shade before an early evening game walk or drive. Days 7 & 8. Private Mara Camp/Maasai Mara: Full days of game viewing in the Maasai Mara, the world’s most famous ‘Big Cat’ wilderness. The ritual of extended game drives or exploring on foot, guided by a professional safari guide. Day 9.Depart Masai Mara: Return to Nairobi after lunch. Catch the 1600 Air Kenya scheduled flight Mara – Wilson, arriving 1715. You will be met by a representative driver to transfer to your Nairobi hotel or the international airport.

Spend two nights at Loldia, a beautiful colonial-style farmhouse, from where the mystical Hells Gate National Park and the magical Crater Lake may be visited, where flamingos and flamboyant Columbus monkeys abound. Take a picnic breakfast out on the lake or visit Joy Adamson’s Elsamere Conservation Center. Days 4, 5 & 6.Governor’s Camp/ Maasai Mara: Return to Nairobi for lunch before an afternoon flight over the sweeping expanse of the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most spectacular game reserve. Spend the next three nights at Governor’s or Little Governor’s Camps to experience the luxurious camping of a bygone era. Enjoy two full days tracking the ‘Big Five’, amongst other plains game and observe hippos churn up the river whilst crocodiles laze on the river banks. Day 7. Departure: Morning flight back to Nairobi and transfer to the international airport for your onward journey.
